What makes YOUR charter school unique?

NCAPCS is excited to announce the inaugural Truist Shining Star Innovation contest! This is an opportunity for NCAPCS-member schools to shine a light on what makes your charter school unique and earn $5,000 for your school!

All NCAPCS-member schools are eligible to apply for the contest. The application asks you to share an innovative aspect of your school and only takes a few minutes to complete. If your school is selected as a finalist, you will present a three-minute video at our "Rock the Boat," our 2022 annual conference on this topic, showing everyone what makes your school special. The finalists will all receive prize money with the winner being awarded $5,000!

We are thrilled to share with the public and each other the "shining stars" among the NC charter school community!

Application Topic Ideas

Your application can focus on anything that showcases innovation at your school. Consider the following:

  • What makes your school a unique option for students?
  • Do you include community resources and/or partnerships to further your mission?
  • What does student success look like at your school?
  • In what unique way did you meet students' needs during the pandemic?
  • Do you partner with parents in some special way?
  • What makes your educational model different?
  • Has your school engaged in a distinctive project or initiative?
