Tillery Charter Academy has begun the search for an exceptional Principal.
Tillery Charter Academy is a public charter school. The Academy will open in the fall of 2019 with grades K-2, and will add one grade level per year until grade 5.
Our mission is to provide a rigorous classical education with high academic and personal expectations, that inspires students to be productive and thoughtful citizens in their communities and beyond.
Our educators will maintain a purposeful cognizance of our academic goals and will deliver the education with undisguised love of their vocations and our children. The Academy's instructional program will be anchored by the Core Knowledge sequence, a classical approach to education.
The Principal shall be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the school. He or she will implement the policies approved by the board of directors and will, with the direction of the board, supervise the school staff and ensure the Academy’s compliance with all applicable laws, State Board of Education policies, and testing procedures. The Principal must be committed to the mission of Tillery Charter Academy and be willing to work collaboratively to achieve the school-wide goals as set out in the charter and the school improvement plan.
Tillery Charter Academy is located in beautiful Montgomery County, NC, close to Uwharrie National Forest and a short drive to Albemarle and Asheboro, NC.
- extensive elementary school classroom teaching experience
- a four-year college degree
- prior experience in school administration
- North Carolina School Administrator/Principal License
