Great news!  You and your colleagues will now have the opportunity to learn directly from the authorizers of the ACCESS grant.

In this week’s Charter School Newsletter, OCS shared that they will are providing ACCESS Grant training on 1/24 at DPI from 10am-12pm.  With this in mind, we’ve changed our plans so that you and your team can benefit from both trainings that day.  Here’s the new plan:

  • First, join OCS from 10am – 12pm (NCDPI, Room 227, 301 N. Wilmington St., Raleigh).  You’ll learn the nuts and bolts of how to earn every one of the 80 points required to be recommended to the CSAB for approval.

  • Then drive 4 minutes to join us from 12pm – 4pm for lunch and grant writing training (Raleigh Holiday Inn Downtown, 320 Hillsborough Street, Raleigh).  Work with winning grant writer, Katy Ridnouer, to draft key parts of the application narrative and budget so that they align with the grant’s objectives and your school’s mission.

  • Bonus: In addition to Thursday’s training, the two follow-up webinars, and opportunities for feedback, we are adding a 30-minute grant writing coaching call with Katy to ensure that your grant is ready for submission by March 31st.

Email Katy Ridenour katy@leaders-building-leaders.com if you have any questions.

Grant writing might seem like a daunting task, but why miss out on monies that could make your program sing?  Once you learn the basics of developing a winning grant proposal, you’ll see that grant writing is all about following some steps and having a clear vision.

Participants will…

  • Create workable and fundable ideas that match the objectives of the CSP ACCESS Subgrant.
  • Outline each section of the grant and create a list of documents to collect and sections to develop
  • Develop a budget that demonstrates its value to the project
  • Leave the meeting with a ready-to-send Letter of Interest (due February 1st)
  • Be invited to two follow-up webinars after the workshop focused on:
  • Connecting the narrative and the budget to the grant goals
  • Wrap-up Q & A session
  • Be welcome to submit their application to the trainer twice for feedback
  •

    What to bring:
