2018 Conference 2018-07-10T11:23:18+00:00

Welcome to our 2018 Conference!

We are excited to host this year’s conference at the Sea Trail Golf Resort & Convention Center in Sunset Beach, NC Sunday, July 15 through Tuesday, July 17!   Although the Sea Trail is one of the largest full-service conference centers on the North Carolina coast, its casually sophisticated spaces, beautiful outdoor venues and lush coastal surroundings set the stage for an intimate, fully personalized experience.    With three award-winning golf courses, indoor and outdoor pools, the beach a mile and a half away, and delectable seafood restaurants in neighboring Calabash, NC, the seafood capital of the world, there’s plenty to enjoy!   With our room block rates as low as $119/night, you may want to stay an extra night or two for a mini vacation!

Our theme this year, Building Bridges, is inspired by the Mannon C. Gore Bridge in Sunset Beach.   Replacing the old pontoon bridge built in the 1950s over the Intracoastal Waterway, the new bridge allows faster, more efficient movement between Sunset’s mainland and barrier island.   Throughout the conference we will explore the various ways bridges can be built to make connections between stakeholders, including teachers, parents, administrators, board members, businesses, and our district counterparts.   As illustrated in the conference logo, North Carolina’s children will be the ultimate beneficiaries of effective collaboration.
