National Charter Schools Week May 3-9, 2015

National charter schools week 2015

National Charter Schools Week is exactly one month away, and I couldn’t be more excited about the opportunity we have to celebrate the power of charter schools!
Every year, National Charter Schools Week gives us the chance to raise awareness about our amazing schools. Whether it’s highlighting the academic successes of our students or the strong parental demand for more schools, we have a lot to share.
To make things easy, we’ve put together a toolkit with some helpful materials and a host of ideas for you to celebrate with us. In the toolkit, you’ll find a guide that will help guide you though the process of inviting elected officials to visit your school. I strongly encourage you to use National Charter Schools Week as an opportunity to open the doors of your school to local, state, and federal policymakers.
We are also asking charter school students from across the country to participate in our first ever National Charter Schools Week essay contest and tell us why their school is an excellent place to learn. Learn more about how to participate here.
Take a moment to look through the toolkit, plan an activity for the week, and start sharing #CharterSchoolsWeek on social media to get the word out.
We’d also love to promote what you’re doing to celebrate the week—and your successes! Please email Andrew Schantz to let us know what you have planned or to share success stories about your school and students that we can promote.
Stay tuned for more information about our activities for the week.
I look forward to celebrating with you!
