ASHEBORO — Uwharrie Charter Academy’s new high school was among the stops on Lt. Gov. Dan Forest’s visit to Randolph County on Tuesday.
Forest liked what he saw and heard from UCA staff so much that he asked the charter school to be part of a video on innovative schools.
The lieutenant governor serves as a member of the State Board of Education and supports charter schools. He called these public schools “hubs of innovative change we know we need to make in 21st century education.” Forest said charters “transform the way students learn and teachers teach.” Read More
