"Earth Day" at New Dimensions School

Students at New Dimensions School celebrated Earth Day on Wednesday, April 15th with local guest volunteers. The stations consisted of a variety of topics ranging from bees, gardening, forest safety, animals, to UV-A and UV-B light. The stations were run by New Dimensions Earth Day 2015Stacey Johnson from Western Piedmont Community College, Catawba Valley Astronomy Club, Lake James State Park, and the Forestry Service. In addition, to the acitivites, students were able to purchase Earth Day t-shirts designed by parent, Eliot Lytle, owner of the local MESH Design Group. Middle school students participated in Earth Day activites by writing and illustrating poems about global climate change for the American Chemical Society’s Earth Day contest by drawing posters about sun safety for the Sunwise poster contest.
