Best High Schools In North Carolina

North Carolina high school graduation requirements call for more than 20 credits in various subjects. Students do not need to take world language courses to graduate, but according to the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction, students must take a minimum of two language credits to be admitted into any of the schools within the University of North Carolina system.
 
In the 2017 U.S. News Best High Schools rankings, there are 36 North Carolina schools with silver medals and 90 with bronze medals. Sixteen schools earned gold medals, including Raleigh Charter High School, located in the state capital of Raleigh.
