130 Admitted to Uwharrie Charter Academy

ASHEBORO — The 130 rising ninth- and 10th-graders who submitted enrollment forms to attend Uwharrie Charter Academy have been admitted for its first school year starting in August.

“UCA is excited to grant admission to ALL of our currently enrolled students! We will be scheduling students in the summer months,” was the message on the Facebook post Thursday for Randolph County’s first charter school.

UCA’s initial enrollment period lasted from March 8 to May 8 for its first year. The public charter school is limited to 200 students in grades 9-10 for the 2013-14 school year — 125 in the first ninth-grade class and 75 in 10th grade.
